Bedroom Farce in the Works

January 17, 2012 at 9:34 AM

The upcoming production of Bedroom Farce is coming up quickly. Rehearsals are well underway, and everyone is gearing up for one of our productions, yet! Our cast is amazing and everyone will be wow'd!

As producer, I'm faced with many challenges, not the least of which is furnishing three completely different bedrooms, all of which will be statically staged simultaneously and with no set changes during the performance. The greatest challenge of this production is in the lighting, as the "change of scene" occurs in an almost "cinematic" fashion, with rapid transitions (including fade ins, fade outs and cross fades.) We are in need of an experienced lighting engineer, so feel free to contact us if you think you can help, or know of someone that can.

The setting is in England, and the accents are virtually flawless. The actors, too, are alsmot completely off-book, before the required deadline and all is moving smoothly. I truly feel this is one of the best casts The Heritage Players have ever had!

The other challenge is creating and designing the set, to allow for three fully-furnished bedrooms (each in their own, separate homes.) As the title would suggest, there are three beds needed, as well as the other amenities a bedroom would include. While most of the props are acquired, the set is still needs completed, but we're nearly there!
